== Heyatı ==
Arif Selimov 1956-cı ilde Azerbaycanın Ağsu şeherinde anadan olmuşdur. 1973-cü ilde Ağsu şeher 1 saylı orta mektebi bitirmiş ve 1973-1978-ci illerde Bakı Dövlet Universitetinin mexanika-riyaziyyat fakültesinin telebesi olmuşdur. 1978-1980-ci illerde AMEA-nın Kibernetika İnstitutunda mühendis-riyaziyyatçı kimi çalışmış, 1980-1983-cü illerde ise Rusiyanın Kazan Dövlet Universitetinin eyani aspiranturasında "hendese ve topologiya" ixtisası üzre tehsil almışdır. 1984-cü ilin yanvar ayında Kazan şeherinde meşhur sovet hendese alimi V.V.Vişnevskinin elmi rehberliyi altında namizedlik dissertasiyasını müdafie etmişdir. 1983-1999-cı illerde Bakı Dövlet Universitetinin hendese kafedrasında müxtelif vezifelerde çalışmışdır. 1998-ci ilin sentyabr ayında Kazan Dövlet Universitetinde "hendese ve topologiya" ixtisası üzre doktorluq dissertasıyasını müdafie etmişdir. Arif Selimov Azerbaycanda "hendese ve topologiya" ixtisası üzre doktorluq elmi derecesine sahib olan yegane elm adamıdır. 2017-ci ilden Bakı Dövlet Universitetinin "Cebr ve Hendese" kafedrasının müdiri vezifesinde çalışır.

Tenzor operatorlar nezeriyyesinde aldığı fundamental neticeler ve lift nezeriyyesinde yaratdığı yeni metod ile diferensial hendese sahesinde dünyada tanınmış mütexessisdir. 14 telebesi riyaziyyat (hendese) üzre felsefe doktorluğu dissertasiyası müdafie etmişdir. 50-den çox beynelxalq konfranslarda elmi meruzelerle çıxış etmişdir. 100-den çox elmi eseri vardır. Bunlardan 61-i (o cümleden 54-i SCI-Exp, 7-i ESCI indeksli olmaqla) ABŞ, Yaponiya, Cenubi Koreya, Çin, Hindistan, Sinqapur, Meksika, Rusiya, İngiltere, Almaniya, Fransa, İtaliya, Hollandiya, Polşa, Macarıstan, Türkiye ve s. ölkelerin Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) bazasındakı elmi jurnallarında çap olunmuşdur. Arif Selimovun "Tensor operators and their applications" adlı kitab-monoqrafiyası ABŞ-ın nüfuzlu "Nova Science Publishers, Inc., New York" elm neşriyyatının "Mathematics Research Developments" seriyasında çap edilib.

1995-2017-ci illerde Türkiyenin Atatürk Universitetinde çalışmışdır (1995/1998 - Dosent, 1998/2017 - Professor).

Layihe rehberi olduğu 4 layihesi (TBAG-105T551, TBAG-108T590, MFAG-112T111, MFAG-116F230) Türkiye Dövletinin Elmi ve Texnoloji Tedqiqatlar Komitesinin (TÜBİTAK-ın) qrantlarını almışdır. Onun “Tensor operators and their applications” adlı kitabı 2013-ci ilde Türkiyede “AÜ Bilimsel Teşvik Birincilik Ödülü” mükafatına layiq görülmüşdir. Arif Selimov 2015-ci ilde Türkiye Dövletinin elm sahesinde en prestijli mükafatlarından biri olan “TÜBİTAK PPÖ-Proje Performans Ödülü”ne layiq görülmüşdür. 2016-cı ilde ise Arif Selimov Atatürk Universitetinin "Sıtkı Alp Bilimsel Teşvik Ödülü"nü de almışdır. 2019-cu ilde Arif Selimov Azerbaycanın "Emekdar Elm Xadimi" adına layiq görülmüşdür
